Reductil
Reductil (sibutramine) is a highly-effective appetite suppressant. It works by affecting appetite control centers in the brain helping to decrease the patient’s food cravings. Take Reductil once a day exactly as directed by your doctor. The dose you are prescribed is based on your current health condition as well as a number of other factors, such as the drugs you are taking, medical conditions you have or used to have etc. Therefore, sharing your dose of Reductil with other people may not be the best idea. Never take Reductil if you have taken a MAO inhibitor within the last 14 days. The following MAO inhibitors are prescribed for cheat pain or heart problems most often: furazolidone, isocarboxazid, selegiline, rasagiline, tranylcypromine, and phenelzine. You also need to be careful with the following medications that are supposed to be reported to your doctor as soon as possible if you need to start taking them soon an are already using Reductil: antidepressants, tryptophan, ergot medicines, narcotic pain medications, lithium, and migraine headache medicines. Report any other prescription or over-the-counter medications you may be using or intend to use simultaneously with Reductil. Some medical conditions that can affect the dose you are prescribed can be the following: any bleeding disorder, liver or kidney disease, history of gallstones, high blood pressure, depression, glaucoma, heart disease, underactive thyroid, seizures, and history of heart attack. Mild and more serious side effects are sometimes reported. There is no need to call your doctor if you develop any of the following mild side effects: heartburn, nervousness, painful menstrual periods, headache, flu-like symptoms, weakness, runny nose, insomnia, back pain, flushing, change in appetite, dry mouth, and constipation, as they are most likely to go away on their own. More serious side effects can be dangerous and need to be reported as soon as you notice them. The following ones are possible: sweating, blood in your urine, high fever, agitation, dangerously high blood pressure, overactive reflexes, confusion, seizure, stiff muscles, vomiting, sweating, anxiety, easy bruising or bleeding, shortness of breath, joint pain, flu symptoms, and weakness. Never take more of Reductil, as an overdose is possible. The following symptoms can indicate an overdose and need to be reported to your local emergency center as soon as possible: headache, fast heart rate or dizziness.
